PLANT THE PARK

Overview

Come join Sakari Outdoor Gear in June as we help revitalize Bethpage State Park. Our family-friendly volunteer day offers great opportunities to encourage youth involvement in preserving the future of Long Island’s natural habitats by replanting an area destroyed after the construction of a water pipe. We will be planting the area in stages with both plants and trees, so that eventually the trees will form a canopy overhead. It will be a day where you get to give back to the trails you love, meet new people, and most importantly enjoy the experience!
So, what are you waiting for. Grab your gloves, pick up a shovel and come join the team!

About the Area

Bethpage State Park is a 1,477-acre (5.98 km2) New York state park on the border of Nassau County and Suffolk County on Long Island. The park contains tennis courts, picnic and recreational areas and a polo field, but is best known for its five golf courses, including the Bethpage Black Course, which hosted the 2002 and 2009 U.S. Open Golf Championships.

The park is not located in Bethpage as its name suggests, but is rather located almost entirely within the hamlet of Old Bethpage, despite having a Farmingdale postal address from the day it opened in 1934.
